BUSC are counting the days before The British Universities Dryslope Championships, arrives in Edinburgh for the 14th - 15th November. With a field of 650+ competitors anticipated at Hillend and several hundred spectators enjoying the on-slope beats it is set to live up to its billing as the largest dryslope competition in the world. As the official BUSA Championships we look forward to watching some of the finest young talent going head to head, as well as hosting demo-riders and a pro comp.
BUSC looks forward to pulling out all the stops not only for the entertainment in and around the competitions but for Saturday night’s themed ball. Competitors from across the UK will be treated the whole range of disciplines, from slalom and GS through team parallels and big air to slopestyle. The line-up at the slope will include marquees full of sponsors’ exhibitions, MCs and a pro-am Big Air comp. Add to this live DJs and we will be able to generate unmistakable BUSC atmosphere, and that’s before we’ve laid on the mother of all parties…
Saturday night will be hosted by the Royal Highland Showground’s. We return to a black-tie sit down dinner but have given it a twist of ‘pimps and playboy bunnies’. The evenings’ line up will include Blue Funkt, quite frankly one of the best cover bands you are ever likely to come across, supported by a sound system that is barely legal. The band will be complemented by some of Edinburgh’s finest spinning the decks. Is it gonna go off? You bet your life.
Entry forms for competitors are available here and should be returned to the BUSC office by Wednesday 5th November. Accommodation is available through BUSC at a cost of £13.50 per night and can be booked as above. A dining ticket for the Ball is £38 (including free transportation to the event), the gatecrasher (non-dining) ticket will be available for £15.
